Finally a couple of quiet days

After a hectic start to the tour with 3 games in 4 days, plus flights from Australia to LAX, on to Salt Lake City and then connecting through to Edmonton, the Aussie Stars girls have finally had a chance to draw breath. Beginning with a team dinner at Boston Pizza, the team had a chance to prepare for their assault on Canada’s shopping malls. Our server LISA or USA as we liked to call her was amazing, remembering everyone's orders, including the money given, tip and change… it was amazing to watch.
The first day off consisted of shopping, shopping and more shopping, with most team members heading to West Edmonton Mall and the others choosing to sleep in before heading to a local mall. Not surprisingly the credit cards got a work out yesterday, and then before heading back to the hotel we stopped at United Cycle Sports just for a little extra shopping… baseball style.
Day 2 of the rest days started as all good days should, on a baseball field. The Stars held their first training session, which gave us a chance to work on some fundamentals of the game and ensure that the team is ready to fly from tomorrows games against the Netherlands and then into the games against the Alberta U16’s and Baseball For All from the USA. The afternoon consisted of sun baking, shopping and relaxation… all very well needed.
